International BBQ Festival - The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi

The word barbecue when used as a noun can refer to the cooking method, the meat cooked in this way, the cooking apparatus (the "barbecue grill" or simply "barbecue"), or to an event where this style of food is featured. Used as an adjective, "barbecued" refers to foods cooked by this method. The term is also used as a verb for the act of cooking food in this manner. Barbecuing is usually done out-of-doors by smoking the meat over wood or charcoal. Restaurant barbecue may be cooked in large brick or metal ovens designed for that purpose. There are numerous regional variations of barbecuing and it is practiced in many areas of the world. (Source: Wikipedia)

One of the most sought after cooking methods worldwide, BBQ has been in existence since primeval times. After the fire was discovered by our ancestors, meat and other products were started to be cooked on fire as it changed the character of the food wholly. Since then, the basics have remained same but the add ons kept on coming in and kept on modifying the technique based on the region and preferences. The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel has come up with a unique food festival which showcases the BBQ styles from different regions of the world viz. American, Oriental, European and Indian of course.

Chef Rohit Tokhi and his talented team of chefs have done wonders by curating such a great menu. The setup has been done at the Al Fresco setting at Frangipani (Patio) onlooking the open skies situated on the 3rd floor terrace. The furniture is as rustic as can be, inspired by the German Oktoberbest and is the perfect seating option for this festival.

Chef Tokhi and Ms.Devashree Mahajan (PR and Marcomm) for the Hotel played fantastic hosts to us. Chef was more than enthusiastic to showcase the creations they have curated and prepared coming off the fire directly onto our plates. Pork Belly (Bacon and asparagus skewers), Pork Ribs, Sausages, Grilled Lamb Chops,Chicken Skewers Teriyaki were just amazing from the European section. The Oriental section was as interesting as the other counterparts. The roasted duck and the crispy the chicken with skin was just fabulous. Indian BBQ has much to offer too, the Pomfret, Jhinga Nisha, Quail and chicken and so on. I just loved the grilled pomfret, it was marinated very well in a nice masala paste which tasted just great.

The Pulled Pork burgers, Corn Burgers, Cheesy Nachos, Lamb Burgers served with French Fries and Cole Slaw from the American Food Truck were to die for. And did i forget to mention the myriad of Salads, Cheeses, Breads and Desserts on Buffet. OMG all this and much more at a Rock bottom Price which ranges from 999/- to 1299/- (Lunch and Dinner) A.I..... Isn’t it unbelievable!!!

Get ready and reserve your seats to savour the best cuisines from all over the world.
