Jamie’s Italian’s New Menu Launch: A Gastronomic Treat Worth A try

As soon as you come across a name like Jamie’s Italian, you are transported to the land of authentic Italian cuisines with unadulterated tastes and a sumptuous culinary journey. While this outlet at Vasant Kunj Ambience Mall had been loyally catering to the tastes of thousands of visitors for a long time, this time a new innovative menu launch is surely a culinary treat. Firstly the best part what you relish in Jamie’s Italian is the wide range of in-house products they share. Beginning from Pasta to breads, every item on the shelf and your table is an authentic child of Jamie’s Italian itself. The new menu launch was undoubtedly an added feather to its gastronomic achievements.

The Perfect Breads to Binge On
Now coming to the menu, Jamie’s Italian offered a wide variety to explore this time. Beginning from the World’s Best Olives on Ice to the Ultimate Garlic Bread, Jamie’s experimentation with breads and nibbles never seem to cease.

Pizzas and Pastas
Jamie’s had always topped our lists when it comes to the tasting of Pastas and Pizzas in Delhi. Their innovation with tastes has won our hearts and this time the new pasta and pizza treats from their kitchen added to our gastronomic delights. Apart from the existing Pastas, Jamie’s now has the Pappardelle Pesto Genovese Spaghetti Carbonara Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli and for the Pizzas we had the endless delights as Sunny Margherita [basically a Sun-Dried Tomato Margherita, Florentina, Summer Garden and Roasted Pepper Calzone.

We had the roasted peeper calzone and believe us it was truly worth a try with a zingy taste of pepper oozing out from every bite.

Now coming to the mains and the salads, Jamie’s pork steak namely Flash Steak & Fries
And Gennaro's Chicken Primavera are the recent additions to the menu. Fresh pork with smoke and yummy effect has the power to create a hangover with its lingering taste. This was indeed the best dish of the evening as the soft cooked pork melted into our mouth keeping behind an absolutely tempting impact.

A Sweet Retreat
Describing our experience to the outlet would be incomplete without discussing the desserts of the evening. Though the new addition to the menu was the Seasonal Pavlova, but the best part of the experience was the another new face namely “Ultimate Dessert Plank”  that was mainly a sharing plank with small portions of each of Jamie’s excusive top 5 desserts.
This unusual plank from Jamie’s Italian gives you access to relish the treats of each and every ideal dessert of the gastronomic house. In fact this would be a perfect conclusion for your dining or luncheon sessions with variety and versatility of tastes.

The new menu at Jamie’s Italian is indeed worth a try when you desire to satiate all your Italian cravings with the most authentic tastes and varieties.

Holiday Inn New Delhi Mayur Vihar Noida is a luxurious property with a great location.
The hotel’s all day dining restaurant offers premium dining experience throughout the day, from delicate mid day tea to international buffet fare, making Holiday Inn, Mayur Vihar Noida, the first choice for an important business lunch, intimate dinner or something much more casual.

Open 24 hours, this comfortable restaurant  located on the 3rd floor, offers multi cuisine buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner and a selection of tempting a la carte options. Savor fragrant Thai specialties, Indian dishes and western favorites and a range of classic burgers and sandwiches. Light and bright and overlooking the pool area, Cafe on 3 is the ideal place to meet with friends to enjoy.

I was invited to their ongoing Dilli 6 food promotion by the most hospitable Shikha B.Singh (Mgr. Marcomm), which is running till 21st August. The café is a nice and bright place, not too big but nicely done and well lit. At the entry, is the bar area just before you enter the doors of the Café.

The Golgappas and Chaat counter welcomes you as you enter the place. I was heartily welcomed by Chef Tanmoy Mazumdar (Exec. Chef.) The Chef showed us the regular buffet spread as well as the most enticing foods from the Jama Masjid and nearby Purani Dilli area. I must say, I was taken aback by the sheer look of those dishes.

We started with the Tangy Golgappas and the Papdi chaat which was very well made with all the ingredients well intact, nice and tangy chutneys with the best of masalas.  The kebabs were served just after that, which included the Boti kebabs, Babu Bhai’s Dori kebab and the famous Aslam Butter Chicken. OMG, each and every creation was just perfect. Aslam’s chicken is'nt the regular tomato gravy chicken dish instead it’s a tandoori chicken drowned in yoghurt, cream and Amul butter. Not for the faint hearted at all.

Even the Paneer tikkas and the Palak tikki were very well made. For the main course, we had the Murg Musallam, Gosht Qorma and the Jahangiri Chicken with the most delicious Mutton Biryani and Khameeri rotis. Each and every dish was a perfect replication of the authentic stuff we have always had from the  bylanes of Jama Masjid area. I was so excited  and  inquisitive enough to ask the Chef if he had got the khansamas from the old Delhi area to churn out such great stuff. He smilingly replied in negative and I was really taken aback by his sheer talent of getting the same, even better flavors in his dishes than those available in Purani Dilli using his own team and kitchen stuff. Each and every flavor was so authentic, optimum use of spices, cooking style and even presentation in the big Degs (Copper Pots).

The Dessert section was full of goodies but my eyes were on the authentic Matia Mahal fare. And yes, we were served with the best Phirni set in clay bowls and the sinful Shahi Tukda. Both were directly sourced from the vendors in Old Delhi. A great end to one of the best meal, I have had in recent times.

Kudos to the Chef and his team for such lovely food the service team for their impeccable service. The F&B team under the expert guidance of Sanjay Pandita (Mgr. F&B) is doing wonders by showcasing their relentless talent and giving out a delightful experience to the customers.

Over the years, ITC Hotels has earned a reputation for excellence, for its iconic cuisine brands which showcase the best of Indian and international culinary traditions, distinguishable by their authentic flavours and quality ingredients. “Pan Asian” at Sheraton, New Delhi is one such iconic label serving variety of culinary flavours from the mysterious Orient.

Pan Asian offers “Flavours of East Asia”. It takes you on a voyage across the Pan Pacific region. At Pan Asian you can explore diverse culinary traditions: from the hearty fare of Mongolia to the fiery taste of Malaysia, Korea, and Thailand, along with the delicate flavours of China and Japan. Asian cuisine is a sum of many complex flavours with a heavenly mix of spices. The style of cooking is a blend of quick stir frying, steaming and deep frying that offers a satiating experience to your taste buds.

Separate sections have been designated for each of these styles. An interactive Teppanyaki griddle, for instance, serves as much as a gateway to exceptional Japanese food as an awesome spectacle. Pan Asian’s interactive environment creates a unique ambience for each region’s cuisine. The interactive kitchens encourage close interaction with the chefs. The gourmands can enjoy the experience of watching their meals being prepared according to their personal preferences. The décor portrays the understated charm and elegance. Each and every element inside the restaurant has been carefully chosen and placed to reflect the culinary traditions of that culture.

The use of wooden furniture reflects the oriental charm and showcases the grandeur of the place. The place is big and various seating areas including the private dining area which is beautifully done facing the plush greens.
Having heard a lot about this place and its Asian food, we finally reached our destination. Nicely welcomed by Chef Vaibhav Bhargav who is the heart and soul of the place, we found ourselves a comfortable seating in the private dining area. I was really excited for the dishes which were about to be unveiled as part of the new menu being launched.

While talking to the most charming and friendly Ms. Shreyashi Sanyal (Mgr. PR & Mktg.) we got to know about the number of dishes and the ideology behind them. Chef Vaibhav also informed us about the various additions and the concept of using more of local ingredients so as to promote the indigenously grown produce which is at par with the imported and pricey constituents.

“As a farm-to-table restaurant, it is important to showcase how abundant our nation truly is year round.  Recreating our dishes regularly only makes sense. And to further strengthen our expertise in Chinese cuisine, we have recently been joined by Chef Jian Wei Lee. Chef Lee joins us from Dubai and has a vast experience in Chinese cuisine. ” said Chef Vaibhav Bhargava, Executive Sous Chef at Pan Asian, WelcomHotel Sheraton, New Delhi.

We started with the most delicious and Freshest Micro Cress Salad which was really phenomenal and had all the natural flavours well intact. Next was the Dimsums of all types, Chicken Sui Mai, Prawn Har Gow.  The Mango sushi was amazing as it was a fresh take on the regular sushi rolls. The Chinese cabbage rolls were really nice and healthy, instead of using any form of starch the cabbage leaf was used as a covering for the Dimsums.

The Bullet chilly chicken dumplings were nice and hot served with black bean and spring onions, we loved them. The Prawn and Crab toast was an amazing creation and was relished by all, other than me as I am highly allergic to shell fish. We also tried the Belgian Pork Belly which was exceptionally good; the slow cooked pork was served with honey soy and glazed with miso mustard. This dish was highly addictive. For the main course we had the Chicken Katsu Curry which was a very familiar taste as the main ingredient is the curry powder which mostly has Indian spices blend. The sticky rice taste yummy with the thick gravy and pieces of crumb fried chicken.

To wrap up our meal, we couldn't have asked for something better than the Family Dessert Platter. A big platter with freshly cut fruits like apple, mandarin, peach on a bed of crushed ice and sticky banana pudding, 2 types of ice creams and miniature cheese cakes with a Japanese influence. This was really mesmerizing and soul satiating.

Although the new menu remains true to Pan Asian’s roots of Oriental comfort foods, keeping staples intact, guests can now see a myriad of lighter, vegetarian alternatives as well as fun and quirky Bento Boxes.  Upon first glance at the menu, locals and visitors alike will also recognize a strong Chinese, Thai, Korean and Japanese influence as an abundance of seafood is apparent. Dishes to look forward include Pan Asian’s Chef’s Special Prawn 4 Way’s, Teppanyaki Stir Fried Ramen Noodles, Pan Asian Signature Lobster Tempura and the ever favourite Hot Toffee Pudding.

An apt place for a family dinner at special occasions or for a date with your beloved, sipping on the best of wines and spirits on offer accompanied with the most sumptuous Asian meal one can ever have.
