Mall of India, Noida saw the soft launch of The Pirates of Grill- The buffet concept restaurant with twist. In collaboration with All India Federation of the Deaf , Dr. Onkar Sharma, Hony. General Secretary and Mr. Inderjeet Singh Banga & Mr Jasmeet Banga, Co-founders- Pirates of Grill hosted a lunch for these under priveleged people at their newly opened Outlet in the Mall of India, Noida. Mr Inderjeet Singh Banga on the occasion Said, “My restaurant is all about Good Food for Good people. At The Pirates of Grill, we make sure that our customers are always spoilt for choices with great starters, main course, desserts and more. My idea of hosting this lunch with this federation was to spread happiness with Food. These are Special God blessed people with pure feelings and enjoy the simpler elements of life, like Food. My restaurant is Destination for People who want to Enjoy simpler things in life, Good Food served with lots of love and care. This is our small gesture to give back to the society and we will ensure to do a lot more in the future.”

Pirates of Grill started out as an exciting new concept in fine bar-be-que dining, introduced to India by the restauranter brothers Jasmeet and Inderjeet Banga. It brought the concept of live grills on the table, coupled with the story of pirates cooking their own grills. An idea that soon caught on and became the talk of the town. Imagine juicy, succulent grills cooking at your own table, and food that keeps coming untill your tummy surrenders!

Starting out at Rajouri Garden, POG captured the imagination of West Delhi. Their innovative offerings at unbeatable prices, made the hungry masses drool, making it a runaway success. POG then moved into NCR with their first outlet in Gurgaon, at MGF Megacity Mall. Here they introduced live kitchens and also the first ever Brazilian Churasco Grill in India. With delicious food grills from all over the world, Pirates soon conquered the hearts and lands of North India. One after the other, they reached the hills of Jammu and the hub of Chandigarh, conquering them with their cuisine.

As they grew, so grew the epic stories about their food and ambience, serving live music along with delectable bar-be-ques, appealing to families and youngsters alike. Rave reviews about their Moroccan grills and Pineapple skewers soon flooded social media, sky-rocketing their popularity.

And now, Pirates of Grill is ready with it’s first outlet at the Mall of India, Noida.  All set to rock the boat with a cooler, more casual experience, the new POG is designed keeping in mind the interactive buffet experience.

‘We have tried to create live interaction between our chefs and guests, through the new Mongolian counter, where you can get meats and veggies hand tossed according to your preference,’ says Inderjeet Banga, co-founder of POG. Continuing the same tradition of innovation, the dessert counter includes exciting new additions like the Live Tepanayaki Ice Cream and Jalebi Caviar.

‘The idea is to attract younger families, invite them to interact with our food and experience different international flavours blended with traditional grills,’ adds Jasmeet, his brother and co-founder.

Even the main menu looks younger and juicier, with innovations like ‘Kachorizza’ and ‘Peanut Butter Paneer Tikka Dimsums’. Even the interiors sport a fresher, younger look, with light wooden basics coupled with liberal does of fresh greens and yellows. A cool mix of casual and chic, the new outlet is all set to become the star attraction in the newly opened Mall of India.

And the Pirates are not looking like stopping at all. With plans for more new outlets even as far as Rajasthan and MP, the world is ready for their plunder.

The idea is to take the hugely successful Pirates concept in new markets and conquer shores with fresher innovations and interactions. Meanwhile, with an exciting proposition already heating up on the grill, Noida is already waiting for its first pirate attack!

Jamie’s Pizzeria by Jamie Oliver - Pacific Mall , Tagore Garden

What a discovery! This place is a must visit for every pizza lover. I went to Jamie’s Pizzeria by Jamie Oliver, expecting good hearty pizzas, unlike the mass churned out at popular fast foods. And I was not disappointed; the food definitely is top notch in flavor and far from the regular. The gigantic New York style slices of pizzas are oh so inviting! Some pizza’s on the menu like the Basil Pollo and White Rocket are truly unique flavors that were not available to us before.

The place is beautifully decorated, happy interiors and nice music. Their menu is kind of small so we were a little skeptical. But nonetheless, we had an amazing time. We ordered a spicy meatball pizza and a salt and sweet fresh lime. The pizza took not more than 15 minutes to reach the table. And it was absolutely delicious.
I know I am repeating myself, but I must say the menu is really quiet limited for there are only about a dozen pizzas offered including non-vegetarian ones. I also ordered Chicken Diviola, Red Rocket, Fungi and Chilli freak; along with a side of garlic bread and chicken wings.  Lychee Spritz and Homemade Ginger Beer, the thirst quenchers, were original and innovative. Salads were an assortment of natural and raw ingredients. The Caprese Salad and Marinated Feta & Watermelon Salad were truly a sight for sore eyes and packed with health.

Hand-stretched Garlic Bread, partnered with rosemary and an olive dip, was a feast, on the other hand, Mushroom Fritti, oyster mushrooms in herby breadcrumbs was little frizzled for my palate. But if you are the one who can’t eat pizza without tomato ketchup then it is not a place for you. Don’t be shocked guys but trust me you wouldn’t get ketchup here. Give your taste buds an opportunity to be delighted with other flavours. Ketchup just kills it all anyway. I really savored Chilli Freak, a rare fusion of spiciness and peppers; Red Rocket was sharp and tangy. Jamie's Super Greens was loaded with fresh greens and calm combination, Funghi is a treat for the mushroom lovers. Excellent salads! Pizzas live up to the Jamie fame! Must try the hand stretched garlic bread. So well made, Genero Contaldo style. Thrilled to bits!

To summarize: Jamie's is an elite brand for pizza fans. The blend of ingredients might not be familiar to the Indian palate but surely they are exclusive and offering them at very justifiable prices. The ambience is relaxed and the customer service is efficient. The thing that a lot of people don’t understand is that Jamie's pizzas aren’t about the toppings, they are about the sauces. The Chicken Peporanatta uses a mild one, which goes well the chicken. The Spicy Meatball uses an extremely hot one and goes brilliantly with the meatball chunks. The crusts are superb and enhance the experience. The ginger beer is homemade and goes very well with the pizzas. Same can be said about the fresh lime soda.

The pizzas were all baked to perfection and with just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese on them. They were all quite light and I would say one could easily enjoy a pizza and beer and still go have an Indian meal! The chefs here are not over the top when it comes to putting toppings because the idea is to create a fine balance rather than overwhelm. The garlic bread is just the same dough out of which they make the pizza base slathered with garlic butter and served with olive and Sun dried tomato dip. Those who are lovers of cheesy dip they wouldn’t like this place because they don’t serve cheesy dip; again as they are trying to create a fine palette.
Service was quick. We also ordered the day's special Chicken Lasagne and it was just the perfect combination of ingredients. The best part about the lasagne was that the flavour of tomato did not overpower the overall taste of the dish.

Overall, the place is reasonably priced, the food is amazing and the service impeccable. The deserts; how can I forget them! The Seasonal Almond Tart and Epic Chocolate Brownie were phenomenal. The tart was seasoned with Mascarpone Cheese, an orgasmic experience and brownie was gooey and delectable. I would love to visit again soon. Cheers team Jamie's. :)
