In the much hustle bustle of the North Campus area of DU is the Vijay Nagar and Hudson lines locality which is full of PG and students accommodations. Students from all over India and even from abroad come to study at DU and love to stay at nearby areas. Targeting them many new eateries and Cafes are sprawling up here n there in that area.
Hudson Cafe is the new kid on the block .Located bang at Vijay ngr. Xing. One just can't miss it. A nice and cozy place with vibrant interiors in hues of blue and green make this place look very energetic and youthful. I tried this place a couple of days back on my friends recommendation. It was around 8 pm and the place was already full of people even families were enjoying their dinner.
I was lucky enough to get a table. We started with Baked cheese Nachos Chicken and the @ Mexican Salad. Both the things were great. Mexican Salad was crunchy vegetables and croutons with tangy dressing and Nachos were really cheesy with a nice sour cream dip.
The next was the Chicken wings in BBQ sauce and Drums of heaven. Really loved the Drums as the sauce was really well made. The BBQ sauce was a little less smoky as per me but it was good. I loved the Chicken Burger as it was soft and juicy patty with no oil at all.
The must try dishes in include Sausages and Mash - Best I must admit....v.well made potato mash with lovely smoky sausages. The Club Sandwich with Egg n chicken. Spaghetti Aglio Olio was one of the best I had in recent times.They are doing some good Mocktails. One should not miss the desserts especially the Banofee pie and the the Red velvet cake.
Prices are rock bottom and the portions are big. I forgot to mention about the Meal in a bowl section they have. Served Chinese style meals like Bowl full of Fried rice or Noodles topped with manchurian or some other Chinese dish is such big fish that one can't have it alone.
Overall a very chirpy and nice place to savour good finger food at highly reasonable prices.Next time when I Visit I shall focus on main course dishes.
