Amongst the much hustle bustle of Noida Sector 18, is
the Mosaic Hotel. I had to attend a meeting with some friends and was suggested
by someone to go to Flluid a nice lounge cum Bar at Mosaic. The ambience is nothing
over the top but quite decent and modern. The furniture is nice with long back
chairs and plunge sofas and high chairs too.
We were shown the New Menu which they have recently
launched. The Menu focuses on traditional food done with a modern approach in a
quirky presentation. Flluid restaurant at Mosaic Hotel has
launched this new menu considering the requirements of today society, pre-plated
concept, presentation which drives you crazy, perfect concoction of cuisines,
super slashed down prizes, a new revolution in culinary world.
We started with
the juice which they serve complimentary in a hip flask. I found it to be a little
inappropriate as everyone uses the same flasks for drinking directly from them,
however clean they keep them or wash them still hip flask is more of a personal
nature. I hope you get me, what I want to portray. The Amuse Bouche ( a puff ) was served in the miniature model of an Iron (Press). The next to be served was the Basil and
Tomato Shorba in small skull shaped glasses. The taste as very good as the
flavor of basil and tomato was clearly visible.
The Caesar Salad was served inside the hollow of big bun shaped bread
but was not made with the right quality of ingredients and dressing, so it was
too dry and unappetizing.
The Chicken khurchan Tart was good but could have been
much better if the Tart Shell was made a little thin. Next , we tried their
Purani Dilli Chaat Platter which includes Golgappas with 3 types of flavored water,
Paapdi chaat and the Moong Dal pakodi was served on a nice round flat plate
resembling a Chakla (used to flatten Rotis)
with shot glasses. The golgappas and water was good but the humble Paapdi
was just ok and the Pakodi was too dry.
Following the trend they have also introduced coloured
sliders (burgers) with different fillings. This dish was good; the best was the
fish burger. One of our friends tried the Rara Gosht Spaghetti which was good
if u like red sauce pasta. The White sauce pasta was just fine and not very
good. We did not try anything in mains,
but ordered a portion of Hakka noodles which I must say were made very nicely.
They have a nicely stocked up Bar with good collection
of Liquor and Wines. The Desserts are fine especially the Makhmali Nazakat
which is a Cake dish served with rabri and Ice Cream.
Overall, a nice place this side of town. The New menu is
a refreshing change for the Noida people but needs more working on it to
improvise the dishes and better the tastes. The presentation has been taken care
of very well, but what really matters is the taste and the presentation
together. I will be looking forward in the coming months to visit Flluid again
soon.
