IMLY in english translates into Tamarind which is a very common souring agent used throughout India especially North and Central India. It’s tangy and sour flavor just boosts up the senses and salivation starts in the mouth. Similarly IMLY EXPRESS has entered the Delhi food circle and created a stir , boosting us all up with its concept and creations. Nothing can match IMLY EXPRESS. A beautifully done up train model with Engine as the kitchen and Tail end as Washrooms. The whole compartment serves as a Dining Room. Wow! ..What a concept and the Menu is too big...Ranging from North to South.....East to West....
We tried almost 70% of the starters and other things on the menu like Golgappas, Sev Poori, Kalmi Vada, Sambar Vada, Bharwan Golgappas, Papdi Chaat, Vada Pav, Dosa the Imly way, Bhaturey Chhole, Mirchi pakodas, Bhel Puri and so on.
Without commenting on each and every item we tried , I will just say that If a place which has such a big and vast Menu can churn out 70 to 80 % of the dishes right , they have done wonders already. The battle is won. Their service is fast and one does not wait much at all. Servers are ever smiling.
The banta bottle drinks served in different colours and flavors were awesome. Even the Masala chai was too good. The Desserts like the Rabri in a small cute jar, Malpua and the Gulab Jamun are awesome.
Must try items - Bharwan Golgappas, Dosa, Kalmi Vada, Chinese Bhel and Desserts. Mirchi bada. Must reach a little before time as mostly you will find people waiting sit inside.
Presentation has been taken seriously and every dish is served in a different way....Not like the fine dine types but totally desi ishtyle....Like use of plastic boxes, Model of giant wheel, Wrought iron basket , Cake and Pie tins etc.
Overall a must visit place at least twice a month or even once a week if you are nearby. Good news is that IMLY will be opening more such IMLY's soon in other locations of Delhi / Ncr and even out station.
