NYC - RADISSON BLU

With the ever flourishing hotel industry in Delhi, one name or rather I should say one brand of hotels is trusted and recommended by every Delhiite – Radisson BLU which fondly is still referred to as Radisson by a majority of people. This chain of hotels has been there for years and promises variety and class. It has a very warm and cosy feel to it and its lavish food spreads in each of its restaurants always succeeds in pulling crowds through the doors.

NYC – a 24 hour coffee shop at Radisson Blu, Mahipalpur, New Delhi which offers multi cuisine delicacies was our pit stop this weekend. As we walked into the place beaming with sunlight entering through the huge glass panes, our eyes started sparkling and what added to this ambience was their Wine Wall.

We kick started our lunch with a variety of starters; at the interactive cooking station the chef tossed some corn kernels with bell peppers with a pinch of black pepper in it ; refreshing and appetizing. Next in line were the starters everybody is familiar with; marinated cottage cheese, fried crusted mushrooms and potato. They also served shrimps, but what stood out in the range of starters was a ham and pineapple roll; fresh and yummmm….

NYC has also introduced a special spread of salad/ raw food bar, designed for the health conscious. Salad platters and individual pre-portioned salads are displayed for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians separately, offers freshness; it is beautiful to look at and also worth tasting.
Chicken and asparagus salad was fresh and light and they had many other options in salads as well.

NYC everyday serves a new cuisine with other general dishes as well. The buffet besides this everyday puts up its Indian cuisine as well. From stews, coconut rice and fried potato to Dal makhani, Biryani and our all-time favourite paneer; the buffet had it all. On one hand the spread had a variety of options for the main course like spaghetti and pastas too; the taste was not extraordinary. It was a little disappointing as most of the dishes were those with which almost everyone is familiar and so was the taste. But , usually these dishes are run of the mill at most of the places as they have become a part and parcel of our regular eating fare.

We then walked towards the dessert counter, it was like a paradise with a variety of pastries, panna cotta, cakes, pudding and even a chocolate fountain on display!! The desserts nullified the experience of the main course as we dipped our marshmallows in the chocolate. The star was the fig and honey ice cream; it was actually addictive specially ordered for us by the most charming Ms. Ritul Yadav (Mgr. Mktg and Comm.)

All in all it was a good experience. NYC also offers breakfast as well as a dinner buffet. If you are looking for a restaurant with a warm feel to it and some comforting food, walk into NYC @ Radisson BLU today.
