The culinary experience at Hyatt Regency Gurgaon is as
unique as it is authentic. This five star hotel houses distinguished
restaurants and bars each styled and designed keeping in mind the
taste of a seasoned business traveller providing exceptional food and beverage
offerings. “The Long Bar” as they call
it is perhaps the longest bar in town at 60 ft . The counter horizontally runs
from one end to the other covering the whole world as in the “World of Liquor”.
Roger Wright, GM, Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon has always been
kind enough to greet us most hospitably whenever, I have been here. Today was
no special though. He has always been quite confident about his hotel and its
offerings, and why not? Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon is indeed one of the best hotels
in this whole vicinity.
We, as Bloggers and Travel Writers were invited for a
Cocktail Masterclass cum mixing session to this much coveted place. The entry
to the bar runs thru a full glass floor which has pebbles and wine bottles on
either side and looks amazing. At 60 feet long, The Long Bar is stylish and
intimate. With tastefully done interiors and lip smacking snacks, this is going
to be the spot for who’s who of Delhi / NCR and discerning travelers from all
over,” Roger told us.
The session was started with the introduction of the Bar
Staff and the Main Bar Mixologist, Mr. Prasoon Punnu. He narrated us the
general history of the cocktail mixing and their origins. Then, he with his bar
men initiated the session by making 5 cocktails
one after the other. The cocktails being, Negroni, Manhattan, Fire Fly,
Margharita and Legacy.
What made the session interesting was the beautiful
presentation of an assortment of appetizers or tapas prepared from the freshly
available ingredients, made under the most talented, Executive Chef Liam
Crotty, and managed effectively by its talented Assistant Director, F&B,
Supreet Roy.
We , loved all the offerings as they were very well made
and presented ‘Tempura Mahi Roll, ‘Bruchetta:
Tomato, Basil, Mushroom and Parmesan’, ‘Lamb Sheekh Kebab’; and
‘Aloo Corn ki Seekh’.
Some
of our Blogger friends also tried their hands on, cocktails mixing. We
thoroughly enjoyed this session. After this,
We all moved for a grand Lunch at the Kitchen District, the muti-cuisine haven
at the hotel which offers 5 live kitchens from different parts of the world.
Interaction
with the hotel staff, viz the GM, the Marketing guys , the F&B guys and so
on was really an eye opener. It really helped us all to know and understand the
property in general and its offerings better.
