Tughlaq --- Mughlai Food at its best...

TUGHLAQ – Cross Point Mall ,  DLF Ph-4, Gurgaon

It was my first visit to this place called Tughlaq for celebrating my dad's birthday. Its situated at cross point mall, Gurgaon....
Its a small and cozy place with a nice ambience.......I reserved a table in the evening for our family........
Reached the place at around 9.15 pm......We were greeted well by the owner of the place.....Vishal, who is a real polite chap....with passion for food..
We took the Buffet option over the Ala carte....as it sounded too good.......It was Buffet on your Table option...
The soups were served....we chose the Chicken Manchow Soup ......It was real good .... 4.0 / 5.0

Then the starters started pouring in.......7 starters in total- 4veg and 3 non veg

Wow....what a wonderful spread !! I must say. ......To start with Chicken Tikka and Malai Chicken Tikka- Awesome pieces of succulent chicken with full flavor of marinade and tandoor..One of the best tikkas I have had recently........ 5.0 / 5.0

Paneer Tikka was good but nothing great can be said about it. Can be improved somehwhat.---- 3.0 / 5.0
And also Veg salt n Pepper - Chinese style preparation of crispy fried veggies....further stir fried in mild spice and served hot---- Good 3.5 / 5.0
We thoroughly enjoyed the starters and ordered Tikkas and kebabs twice - thrice.....as it was a buffet ( lucky us )....
We were told by Vishal (owner) that their order takes some time to arrive at the table as they don't keep things half done especially tandoori snacks......as they lose their sheen and texture goes dry.......Really the starters were coming freshly made and they tasted awesome.....
Which is a v.good practice ....but can be followed only in this case as its not a v.big place and has to cater max. 25-30 people at one time.......
Now , as they make everything fresh portion by portion (ala carte style) and nothing is prepared in advance like in a buffet spread..........We were lucky as our main course took at least 15-20 min to arrive...which helped us in settling the starters in our bellies to some extent ( jokingly ).....

The main course had Butter Chicken with tikkas in it......Awesome taste -- 4.0/ 5.0
Rogan Josh --- Well made well bhunoed....dark colored gravy with nice and succulent pieces
 of lamb-- 4.0 / 5.0
Dal Makhani – Nicely prepared and well spiced lentils like Dal Bukhara. 4.0 / 5.0

Rabri --- 3.0 / 5.0
Halwa -  3.0 / 5.0
Ice Cream was readymade (not made in house) so can’t rate it....
