Our Hunger for Good food brought us
to this eatery or a restaurant as it should be called.......Its an Afghani Food
Joint in Gurgaon....Most of the people are still unaware of RJ Kabul Hotel and
Restaurant and Shahi Kitchen ( both r same establishments)........

We the night
roamers located this joint when we were going to have dinner at Malabar Hotel
...but as it was 10.30 p.m. already so Malabar was closing down for the
day......I think sometimes when you think some bad has happened with you it
turns into some good which is waiting for you....like we found this Afghan
restaurant........ The interior is done well...with 3 seating options
.viz...dining table style...lounge style sofas and the novelty which is the
Baithaks ..a low level/ground level seating made on 2-3 stepped platforms......

Now lets talk about food (our main
driving factor)
We ordered 3-4 items from their menu
after a good chat with the owner Mohib (v.sweet guy) ....who suggested us to
have the specialties’ in Afghani cuisine which i also agreed with him....
In kebabs we ordered Chupan Kabab
..which is succulent pieces of smoky Mutton ( the dish resembles Tabak Maaz of
kashmiri cuisine and burrah to some extent but its subtle)....It was real

In Rice we ordered Kabli Ugbaki
....which is a very nice spread of v.high quality rice with pieces of chicken,
sultanas pieces of carrot .....It was too Good.......4.0 / 5.0

We also ordered Karayee
chicken.....which was v.nice if u like tangy style butter chicken as it not a
gravy item but tomato gravy coated chicken pieces cooked v.well..3.5 / 5.0

We also had a Dal Makhani ..coz w
had a vegan with us ..but its good we had it...as it was also v.good...tasted

Nan was big in size....and
good...they offer a bread each with their dish....we were also given broth full
of veggies for all of us which was bland and avoidable and also a plate of
rajma also..Both were complementary...
The quantity is good.....in some
items it can be a little more like Chupan Kabab is for Rs.300 which has only
5-6 small pieces of mutton...But as per the taste it is v.good.....so v did not
bother too much. Dal was enough for 2-3 people chicken dish is also enough for
2 people...Rice is just enough for 2 people....Pricing overall is fine.
Service was not up to the mark as we
were told that their servers had left for the day which was 'not good as the
place was still open.....but the owner helped us and served us well...which
saved the ship. Our experience must have been better if the service was also
good....which we were promised will be better on our next visit..
